Kailash Kher
Kailash Kher is a prominent Indian singer, composer, and songwriter, born on July 7, 1973, in Vinod Nagar, Delhi, India. Growing up in a musical environment, Kher developed an interest in music at a very young age. Despite facing several personal challenges, Kailash Kher persisted in pursuing his passion for music, eventually moving to Mumbai to make a name for himself in the music industry. Kher's big break came in 2003, when his song "Allah Ke Bande" from the film Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II became a massive hit in India, earning him the award for Best Male Playback at the 2004 Star Screen Awards. He followed this success with "O Sikander" from the 2006 film Corporate and “Chand Sifarish” from Fanaa, winning him his first Filmfare Award in 2007. Meanwhile, Kher had formed the band Kailasa with Paresh Kamath and Naresh Kamath, recording three albums between 2006 and 2009: Kailasa (2006) Jhoomo Re (2007) and the award-winning Chandan Mein (2009), while simultaneously releasing several solo tracks including smash hit “Ya Rabba” (from Salaam-E-Ishq) (2006) and "Jay Jay Kara" (from Bahubali - The Conclusion) (2017). Kher’s solo album Rangeele appeared in 2012 which was followed by hit record Ishq Anokha (2016) (triple-released in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata) as well as Sufiana Ishq (2018) and devotional album Ganesh Raja (2019). In addition to his successful music career, Kailash Kher is also a philanthropist and social activist, earning him the Padma Shri in 2017; one of India's highest civilian honours.
