Julie Masse

Canadian pop singer Julie Masse was born on 3 June 1970 in Greenfield Park, Quebec and grew up in the city of Longueuil. She launched herself onto the national scene in 1990 with her self-titled debut album, which was propelled by the tracks "C'est zero," "Billy, Sans t'oublier" and "Prends bien garde" and went platinum as well as winning three Félix awards. She kept up her winning streak in 1991, picking up two awards at the Videogala for her music video "Sans T'oublier" and going platinum for her follow-up LP À contre-jour in 1992, which also won Julie Masse a Juno award in 1993 for Most Promising Female Performer of the Year. She released her first English album in 1994, Circle of One, which featured "Sunglasses at Night" hit-maker Corey Hart, whom she later married and had four children with. A compilation of her hits to date was released in 1996 before she quit showbiz to focus on her family, later becoming a jewellery designer.
