Jonny Faith
DJ, producer, and radio host Jonny Faith grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, but his musical career didn't really begin until he uprooted and moved to Melbourne, Australia in the mid-2000s. His interests in hip-hop, dub, jungle, and chilled-out electronica grew deeper and he become somewhat of a fixture on the local music scene. He started a club night called Headroom and had a radio show on Sydney's 2SER.fm, all the while honing his own skills as a musician. He used the alias Dubwise Drops to release his first single, the heavy dub reggae-inspired "Bass Bucket," in 2010. His first release under his own name, the Blue Sky on Mars EP, was released by Civil Music in early 2011. After a time spent DJing and doing mixes and remixes, Faith signed with the influential Tru Thoughts label and readied his debut album. Sundial, an album that skillfully wove together all of Faith's influences into a sunny, relaxed mix, was released in early 2015.
