Jannika B

Finnish pop star Jannika B (born on February 28th, 1985 in Ekenäs) came to fame in her home country as a frequent participant in numerous music talent shows, making her TV debut on the 2007 edition of Idols, which saw her advance as far as the semi-finals. The same year, she self-released her debut single, the Swedish-language offering “Så länge vi finns”, which was followed by several more singles in Swedish and English. After trying her luck on Idols again in 2008 and appearing on the 2009 Finnish series of the X Factor, she pivoted to writing and performing Finnish-language music, and entered the Finnish downloads chart for the first time in 2011 with her single “Onnenpäivä”. Inking a deal with Sony the following year which allowed her to set up her own imprint, ONA, she went on to release a debut album, Kaikki rohkeus, in 2013, which entered the national album charts at number three and was later certified gold in Finland. Her follow-up album Šiva, recorded and released in 2014 while she completed an MBA degree, charted at number six. After being invited back onto Idols as a judge, she released her third album, Toinen nainen, in 2019, which peaked at number five in the national charts, and participated in the Finnish edition of Dancing with the Stars the same year, reaching second place in the competition with her dance partner, Aleksi Seppänen. In 2020, she took part in the eleventh Finnish season of music TV series The Best Singers (Vain elämää), releasing a run of singles in conjunction with the show including her first national chart-topper, “Pyyntö”.
