Federal Empire

The ebullient, anthemic pop/rock and topical lyrics of the Federal Empire are often bolstered by unison group vocals. Their debut EP, The American Dream, saw release in 2016 and was followed by collaborations with EDM acts including Martin Garrix and Sam Feldt. Started in Los Angeles by songwriters who met when they were hired to write together for other acts, the Federal Empire's founding members consisted of lead singer Chad Wolf (Carolina Liar), McKay Stevens (the Vibrant Sound), and Keith Varon (Angel's Landing). Early singles including "The American Dream" were picked up by prominent streaming play lists, and the trio released the EP The American Dream in late 2016. Around that time, they were featured on the Martin Garrix single "Hold On & Believe." A remix EP featuring "The American Dream" appeared in mid-2017 with versions by Casualkimono and Lux Pacific. The Federal Empire had another streaming success that year with "Shot by My Own Gun," a collaboration with Sam Feldt that garnered millions of plays. Varon parted ways with the project, and the remaining duo signed with Sumerian Records in 2018. Their second EP, I Never Liked Your Friends (which also included "The American Dream"), followed in mid-2019.
