Ellen Arkbro
Ellen Arkbro is a Stockholm-based composer and sound artist who writes extended pieces in just intonation, in addition to installations and sound environments that utilize acoustic instrumentation as well as digital processing. She has studied with LaMonte Young and Marian Zazeela in New York and Marc Sabat in Berlin. Her works include several pieces for early music ensembles, as well as a performance at the Stockholm Concert Hall that lasted for 26 days. Her debut album, For Organ and Brass, was recorded in St. Stephen's Church in Tangermünde, Germany using an organ dating back to the 17th century, as well as horn, trombone, and microtonal tuba. The album was issued by Subtext in 2017.
