Claudia Valentina

Claudia Valentina's sleek pop songcraft has put her on the fringes of European success as both a singer and a songwriter. Her self-titled debut EP featured the catchy “4:15,” which she co-wrote for an American pop singer before claiming it as her own. She’s since collaborated with artists from Tiësto to German pop-rapper Cro.Born Claudia Cooney in 2001 on the island of Guernsey, she harbored artistic ambitions from a young age. An award-winning dancer, she appeared in the West End production of Billy Elliot and, as a teenager, moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her craft. While there, she attended songwriting camps with journeymen songwriters including Johan Carlsson and Ross Golan. Those connections eventually got her a deal back in England with Virgin EMI, which released her Claudia Valentina EP in 2020. The lead track “Seven” collected more than ten-million streams, and the standout “4:15” was one of two co-writes with songwriting duo David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, who’d strike gold with K-pop act BTS' English-language debut “Dynamite” that same year. (Stewart, Agombar, and Valentina wrote “4:15,” and Selena Gomez had initially been tapped to record a version herself.)Valentina would release several more singles for the label through 2022, collaborating with producers Koz (“Extra Agenda”) and Lostboy (“C’est la vie,” “Sweat”). Valentina and Lostboy would also co-write “The Motto” for Tiësto and Ava Max (a U.K. Top 20 hit and number one dance hit in America), and she would also sing on German musician Cro's 2022 single “High.” After a brief hiatus, she returned in 2024 with the independent singles “D&G” and “Diamonds on My Teeth.”
