Chrissy Murderbot
Chrissy Murderbot is a Chicago-based DJ/producer, who makes uptempo club music (a blend of booty-bass, grime, rave, juke, and many other styles.) Seemingly a workaholic after moving from Kansas City to Chicago in 2007, he founded the record labels Dead Homies, Loose Squares, and Sleazetone. Armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of dance culture, Murderbot took it upon himself to make a mixtape per week for a full year, starting in 2009. Even more impressive than the fact that he accomplished that feat was the variety of mixes, with each one concentrating solely on a specific subgenre and delving deep into the roots of exotic themes like Italo-disco, steppas reggae, or Latin freestyle. Meticulous in his beat-matching and song choices, for his next endeavor he focused this energy on his own music, and released Women's Studies via Planet Mu in spring of 2011.
