Charlie Boy Gang
Southern rap duo Charlie Boy Gang (Deondre Thomas aka Pimpin Duke and Ronnie Welch aka Mechie Man) scored a huge regional dance hit during the early 2010s with "Beef It Up," an ode to cruising around the duo's hometown of Scottdale, Georgia. Initially formed as a five-member crew in 2008, the Gang began performing at open-mike events, gradually attracting attention from Atlanta's hip-hop scene. "Beef It Up" dropped in 2011 and quickly became a dance sensation in Georgia. "Stomp Da Flo" and "Souljaz" followed, and full-length Scottdale Unincorporated appeared digitally in early 2013. The duo went on hiatus in order to focus on solo projects, but they re-formed in 2015 and signed to MEK7 Entertainment, releasing the single "The Way U Is" in 2016.
