Caity Baser
The feisty pop of Britain’s Caity Baser, whose no-nonsense lyrics deal with everything from relationships to personal anxieties, instantly caught the imagination of fans. Debuting in 2021 with the mixtape Lil CB, she was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2024 and for the Brit Rising Star award before issuing her second tape, 2024's Still Learning.
Born and raised in Southampton, Baser had been writing and recording music for a while before putting herself out there on social media during the first 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. She quickly gained a following with her no-nonsense songs about relationships and life and caught the ear of a London-based management agency. She released her debut single, "Average Student," in 2021, quickly followed by a slew of tracks, culminating in the release of the mixtape Lil CB. Baser continued to issue tracks the following year, scoring her first placement in the U.K. singles chart with "X&Y" and inking a deal with EMI Records. 2023 saw her issue the EP Thanks for Nothing, See You Never, which included the Top 30 track "Pretty Boys" before heading out on her first headline tour of the U.K. More tracks followed, and in early 2024 she released her second mixtape, Still Learning.
