Boslen

Vancouver-based rapper Boslen aims to push the limits of mainstream rap, experimenting with style and production to create a hypnotic sound that's anything but by the numbers. After several years of releasing music independently, he signed on with Capitol Records for his 2021 album Dusk to Dawn. Boslen grew up on a farm in Chilliwack, British Columbia, often escaping into music when he was sad or felt alienated by his surroundings. He briefly attended the University of Victoria on a rugby scholarship, but serious injuries made him unable to play. He dropped out in 2018 and put his full focus on music, releasing mixtapes Motionless and Motionless II that year. His sound came together on 2019 EP Black Lotus, and with subsequent singles he began mixing trap rhythms with elements of rock, pop, and even some punk energy. Boslen signed on with Capitol Records for the release of his 2021 album Dusk to Dawn. The album featured cameos from Toronto rapper Charmaine, Dro Kenji, Rascalz, and others, and was released in August of 2021.
