Ben Jayne

American musician Ben Jayne debuted in the late 2010s as a producer and songwriter who scored a hit with "New Freezer," a collaboration between Rich the Kid and Kendrick Lamar. After signing with a major label, he released his debut single, "Mobbin." Born and raised in Rhode Island by an art teacher mother, Jayne started making beats at the age of 12, later recording full tracks at home as a teenager. After graduating high school, he moved to Harlem to pursue music full-time. Hooking up with local rappers Charles Hamilton and A$AP Ferg, Jayne started producing and was soon introduced to Rich the Kid. The fortuitous meeting resulted in "New Freezer," the Kendrick Lamar-featuring single that became a platinum hit after its release in September 2017. Jayne soon signed with Island Records -- who gave him his own imprint, Jayne Arts -- and got to work with fellow producer Frans Mernick (A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator) on his debut single, "Mobbin." Combining menacing trap and a metal edge, the hard-hitting track featured rappers Rokstar Walt, Yung Gleesh, and Kid Wav.
