Anna Wilson
Singer/songwriter Anna Wilson straddles the genres of jazz and country. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, she moved to Nashville, where she and her husband, Monty Powell, have worked as songwriters. She has had cuts on albums by Chris Cagle, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lee Ann Womack, and Reba McEntire. Wilson's debut album, The Long Way, released by Curb Records on August 5, 2003, included her song "The Bus Ride" (co-written with Gary Burr and Matt Rollings), which was recorded by Suzy Bogguss. Wilson's second album, Time Changes Everything (2007), earned kudos from jazz critics. She co-wrote "All I Ever Wanted," a Top 20 country hit for Chuck Wicks. On October 7, 2008, Transfer Records released her Christmas collection of all-original songs, Yule Swing! Next up was a series of jazzy duets with the likes of Connie Smith, Keith Urban, Kenny Rogers, and others for an album called Countrypolitan Duets, which appeared in 2011.
