Andrea True
Singer Andrea True was among the most fascinating characters to emerge from the disco era -- a former porn star, she was best known for the smash "More, More, More," one of the truly classic club hits of its time. Born and raised in Nashville, during the late '60s True relocated to New York City to pursue a career in acting. Outside of work as an extra in a handful of mainstream films, she enjoyed little success; eventually, she was forced to turn to X-rated material. While in Jamaica in 1975, she recorded the sensual "More, More, More" with producer Gregg Diamond; the track -- credited to the Andrea True Connection -- was then licensed to Buddah Records and remixed by Tom Moulton, and upon its release ultimately reached the number four slot on the U.S. pop charts. An LP, also titled More, More, More, soon followed, but after the sophomore effort White Witch failed to match True's early success, her recording career was essentially over.
