Santa Cruz's debut album Way Out is an appealing collection of low-key Brit-pop that sounds something like Neil Finn collaborating with John Squire -- it is trad-rock that sounds fresh. There's nothing on Way Out that rocks particularly hard, but its charm lays in how it is subtle, graceful and sturdily melodic, the kind of record that gives classicism a good name.
