Rozalla

Rozalla has scored numerous club and radio hits with her uplifting dance-pop anthems. "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" became an international smash in 1991, and her 1992 full-length Everybody's Free contained several other charting singles. The more R&B-leaning Look No Further followed in 1995, and she later branched out with the soul/jazz album Brand New Version in 2009. She has since returned to dance music, releasing the disco-inspired Turn on the Light in 2024.A native of Zambia who began her career in Zimbabwe, Rozalla issued her first album, Spirit of Africa, in 1989. She first gained success in the early '90s as a vocalist for the Band of Gypsies production team. The single "Everybody's Free" became a major hit in 1991, leading to her nickname "Queen of Rave." She released an album titled Everybody's Free soon after, and opened for Michael Jackson throughout the European leg of his Dangerous tour. Rozalla remained a familiar name on European and American dance charts during the '90s, though 1995's Look No Further featured more R&B and soul elements than previous productions. Still, the album's cover of "I Love Music" by the O'Jays topped the U.S. club charts. Reuniting with the Band of Gypsies, Rozalla released Coming Home, a return to club-friendly material, in 1998. Rozalla appeared on a vocal version of trance act Plastic Boy's 2003 single "Live Another Life," which made the U.K. singles chart. Going by her full name, Rozalla Miller, she released the vocal jazz album Brand New Version in 2009, and opened for Billy Ocean on his U.K. tour. Rozalla's 2015 single "If You Say It Again" became her first Top Ten hit on the U.S. club charts since 1994. Several more singles appeared, including a 2022 cover of "The Christmas Song." Turn on the Light, Rozalla's first dance album since the '90s, arrived in 2024.
