Animus

Mousa Amouei, alias Animus, who claims not to want to serve a specific target group with his music, was born in Heidelberg on August 16, 1987. As the son of Iranian parents, the rapper's musical journey began at a young teenage age, with self-written lyrics followed by his first appearances at talent competitions. his debut album Der Kugel Schreiber was released in 2007, which subsequently developed into a trilogy and was completed by Der Kugel Schreiber 2 (2008) and Der Kugel Schreiber 3 (2009). Animus, who often uses his parents' refugee story as an opportunity for true-to-life lyrics, is signed to Fler's label Maskulin in 2013, whereupon the collaboration release Maskulin presents Maskulin Mixtape 3 is released in the same year alongside Fler himself as well as Silla and Jihad, which achieves top 10 success throughout the DACH region. With his next album Beastmode, Animus now also manages to enter the German sales lists on a solo level (number 93). Subsequent LPs such as Purpur (No. 54) in 2015, Beastmode II (No. 26), released in 2016, and Beastmode 3 (No. 11), which was released in 2018, marked steadily improving chart positions in Germany. However, the gangsta MC pulled off the biggest coup of his career to date in 2019: now signed to ersguterjunge, Animus became the congenial rap partner of label boss Bushido on Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 4. The reward: the artist's first number 1 placement. In addition, three singles - "Ronin", "Lichter der Stadt" and "Renegade" - catapult to the top of the German charts. in 2021, Animus presents Beastmode 4 - Kamikaze Samurai, his next solo project, which enters the German charts at number 14.
