Souvenir D'Italie is Robert Goulet's Italian album, and it includes romantic ballads like "Just Say I Love Her," "Autumn in Rome," and "Mala Femmina." This album could be popular with fans of the mob hits collections that tend to feature Dean Martin and songs like "That's Amore," "Volare," and "Non Dimenticar," though none of them appear on this album. The strength of Souvenir D'Italie is its attempt to genuinely cover heartfelt Italian love songs, including the love theme from Federico Fellini's La Strada. It's weakness may be its lack of pandering to the Rat Pack stereotype of the genre, which might limit its appeal to the neo-lounge enthusiasts. Then again, it is a Robert Goulet album.
