Dylan Schneider

Deftly navigating the trends that run from Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt to Morgan Wallen, Dylan Schneider manages to stay true to his amiable, neighborly personality in a variety of musical settings. His earliest singles--the slow-burning "How Does It Sound" and the bright "Ain't Missin' You"--were firmly in the vein of Sam Hunt but Dylan Schneider ventured down a rougher path over the years. By the middle of the 2020s, he sang songs like "Bad Decisions" and "Carhartt"--tougher tunes that still avoided succumbing to a retro mentality. Schneider was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on October 8, 1999. As a youngster, he was a fan of pop and hip-hop music, but when he was 13 years old he began listening to country music. Attracted to the storytelling of country tunes, Schneider found that the songs were well-suited to his voice, and he took up singing when he was 14. He became an especially big fan of country star Brett Eldredge, and met him at a special concert in Paris, Illinois, Eldredge's hometown. The two corresponded, and when Schneider was 15, Eldredge invited him on-stage to share a song at an appearance in Terre Haute. Before long, Schneider was playing frequently in and around Indiana, and occasionally headed to Nashville, Tennessee for songwriting and recording sessions. In August 2016, Schneider unveiled his first EP, Wannabe, a five-song release that included the single "You Heard Wrong," which earned plenty of streaming play online. A second EP, 17, was fittingly released on Schneider's 17th birthday, and featured six new songs, including "Want You Back." In November 2016, he issued a Christmas-themed single for the holiday season, "Mistletoe." Continuing his prolific run, he returned in June 2017 with the EP Spotlight's on You. Schneider signed with Interscope in 2019, releasing the EP Whole Town Talk in August. In its support, he appeared on Florida Georgia Line's Can't Say I Ain't Country tour. Schneider moved to BBR Music Group in 2022, releasing the College Town EP in March. By the end of the year, he released "Ain't Missin' You," a single that showed him starting to add stronger country elements to his song, as did 2023's "Daddy Drinks Whiskey." Schneider completed his evolution from downtown to down home with Bad Decisions, an EP released early in 2024.
