In the Garden is a very happy set of instrumental ambient compositions in tribute to "(man's) most direct and intimate experience of nature" -- gardening. Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel, both avid gardeners, composed, arranged, and performed these delightful pieces to honor various gardens and the very essence of gardening -- communing with nature. This pastoral ambience has organic textures and timbres. Deep listeners will go the garden with Tingstad & Rumbel. There, they will dig in the dirt, sweat in the sun, and return with a harvest of sweet memories. That is a great word to describe the music of Tingstad & Rumbel: sweet. This excellent CD will appeal to fans of Diane Arkenstone, Dik Darnell, Dean Evenson, and Lisa Lynne.
