After spending nearly two decades as the leader of Blumfeld, Jochen Distelmeyer launched a solo career in 2007. Heavy, his debut album, sounds markedly similar to Blumfeld's own work, and Distelmeyer's old fans will find something comforting about the album's blend of indie rock, melancholic attitude, and astute political lyrics.
