Sorting through the vast pile of Warrant compilations is becoming preposterous. After The Best of Warrant and Rocking Tall were released in 1996, Jani Lane decided to re-record his favorite hits and then released them as greatest hits on a few labels other than Sony. Since these glossier versions of the songs -- which are used as the first 12 songs on Greatest and Latest -- don't fare as well as the originals and have already been featured on a few other comps (in the exact same song order, no less), there's probably no need for further investigation. If you're a glutton, Cherry Pie -- All the Hitz 'n' More included a rendition of Def Leppard's "Photograph" and Bon Jovi's "Lay Your Hands on Me," while Most Wanted added Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent to the list of Warrant-ized victims. This time around, the weak covers have been scrapped in favor of four weak remixes. It's entirely possible that there might be a DJ out there who wants to throw on a thumping version of "Cherry Pie" to rile a dance party, and there might even be someone out there who picks up records based on the absurdity of the album art, but anyone else should seek out The Best of Warrant instead.
