About Playlist
Sleeper is an English rock band formed in London in 1992. Originally consisting of Louise Wener (vocals, guitar), Jon Stewart (guitar), Diid Osman (bass) and Andy Maclure (drums), they were one of a handful of bands to top the Britpop charts in the mid-1990s, with eight UK Top 40 singles and three Top 10 albums, including 'The It Girl' which sold over 300,000 copies in the UK alone. At the height of their fame, Sleeper recorded a cover of Blondie's 'Atomic', used in the 1996 film 'Trainspotting'. The band broke up in 1998 with Louise Wener going on to pursue a career as a novelist before reforming Sleeper in 2017 and returning to the studio with 'The Modern Age' (released 2019).
