Domenico Cerasani
Italian lutenist Domenico Cerasani is a native of the Abruzzo region. He attended the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, where he studied with Frank Bungarten, and graduated in guitar. He continued his studies with Massimo Lonardi at the Franco Vittadini Instituto Superiore di Studi Musicali in Pavia, where he earned his Master of Music degree. He completed another Master's program at the Musikhochschule Trossingen, where he worked with Rolf Lislevand. Cerasani teaches guitar and lute at the Musikschule Kanton St. Gallen in Switzerland, and publishes musicology articles related to 17th century music in Bologna and the use of empathy in pedagogical practices. He recorded a CD of lute sonatas by Pietro Paolo Raimondo on Brilliant Classics.
