Belinda

Child actor turned pop star, Belinda Peregrín Schüll was born in Madrid in 1989, but moved to Mexico when she was four years old. Fame arrived early, as she starred in several hit soap operas for Mexican networking giant Televisa, and often sang their corresponding theme songs. Her debut solo album, Belinda, appeared in 2003, when she was barely 14 years old. One of the most popular Mexican celebrities of the early new millennium, over the next ten years Belinda released three more hugely successful Latin pop records (Utopía, Carpe Diem, and Catarsis), toured internationally, hosted her own reality show, signed highly lucrative modeling and advertising deals, received numerous awards, and even appeared in the movie The Cheetah Girls 2, a global Disney Channel hit. While never entirely retiring from music (she toured occasionally), from the mid-2010s on Belinda preferred to focus on myriad diverse entrepreneurial projects, as well as frequent TV appearances as a talent show judge or coach. Preceded by a few singles and collaborations, her fifth studio album, Indómita, was released in 2025, signaling the end of a 12-year break from recording.
