Amparo Sanchez
Amparo Sanchez is the Spanish female counterpart to Manu Chao. From 1996 to 2008, her artistic life was intertwined with that of the group Amparanoia, which is also her nickname. Amparo Sanchez mixes jazz, rumba and reggae, putting them at the service of a committed song in Castilian. The 2010 album Tucson-Habana marks the start of her truly solo career. In 2013, Amparo Sanchez places Alma de Cantaora under the banner of encounters and diversity. In 2014, Espiritu del Sol was recorded in Tucson (Arizona) with Joey Burns and John Convertino from Calexico.
