The 1987 debut album from dancehall artist King Kong unleashes a slew of hard-hitting dancehall rhythms topped by Kong’s mellifluous vocal flow. Jamaican beatmakers Steely and Cleevie create the tracks, many of which borrow from classic reggae and dub tunes, but twist them for Kong’s benefit. The resulting disc, with its heavy keyboards and synthesized drums, may strike some contemporary dancehall fans as dated, but TROUBLE AGAIN is a solid effort that serves as a prime example of dancehall in its youth.
