As a passionate vocalist with an acoustic-leaning, retro-soul-influenced style, Charlie Puth gained renown for his YouTube performance videos. On his debut EP, 2015's Some Type of Love, Puth elevates his approach with a fun, uplifting, mainstream pop sound. The album comes on the heels of his success guesting on Wiz Khalifa's single, "See You Again," included on the Furious 7 soundtrack. As with that song, on Some Type of Love we get a handful of anthemic, heartfelt cuts that showcasing Puth's resonant vocals. Included here is the romantic single "Marvin Gaye," featuring "All About That Bass" vocalist Meghan Trainor.
