The ubiquitous Jamaican Riddim twins write, produce, and play for some of the island's best new (and maybe not-so-new) toasting talent...Only rarely do the artists within come up with a compelling track, with much of it sounding like tossed-off reggae-fied hip-hop. Taxi Gang's "SRD" made a direct hit, but too often the tracks become numbingly boring or irritating...Still, much of the playing is good; not sinewy or loping...but not as mechanized and cold as much dance music.
