Scenic Drive represents the first mixtape from Texas R&B crooner Khalid. Initially planned as an EP, the nine-song project was released in December 2021 in advance of his third full-length Everything is Changing. A mellow blend of low-key late night left-field pop and yearning R&B, the release boasts a number of intriguing high profile collaborators ranging from Alicia Keys who narrates the brief opening "Intro" to Canadian duo Majid Jordan on the smooth "Open." Other tracks include the moody "Retrograde" featuring 6LACK and Lucky Daye and the dreamy title cut which features Ari Lennox and Smino.
