On 2007's PURO SIERRENO BRAVO, the young Mexican group Los Cuates De Sinaloa offers up another lively acoustic set. Despite the ensemble's contemporary boy-band-goes-cowboy look, the guitar-driven Los Cuates sound is surprisingly spare and traditional (see the buoyant tracks "Comandante Bandido" and "El Nino"), occasionally featuring nods to 1950s rock & roll.
