A reclusive and poetically careful songwriter, Jean-Louis Murat is the French equivalent of Leonard Cohen in many ways, and his sensitive and lyrically ambitious songs are among the best on the French rock scene and have been for many years. Long fascinated with American music forms like folk and blues, Murat recorded Le Cours Ordinaire des Choses, released in 2009, in Nashville, TN.
