It would be a shame not to be tempted by this quasi musical testament of one of the most important musicians of the 20th and early 21st centuries that Bernard Haitink always was and still is, especially in a work as difficult to access and apprehend as Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis", which so many conductors have conducted the score instead of conducting the music.
