On this 2006 EP, the Northern California-based noise-rock group Hella applies its chaotic drums-and-guitar-driven sound to an acoustic format. While the result isn't nearly as punishing as the band's highly distorted electric material, it's no less bizarre, as revealed on the skittering "Cafeteria Bananas" and the jarringly percussive "Biblical Violence." What this outing lacks in volume, it makes up for in frenetic energy and sheer quirkiness.
