The Wes Hollywood show
Formed in Chicago in the spring of 1999, the Wes Hollywood Show is deeply rooted in the late-'70s and early-'80s tradition of pop/rock songwriting greats. Made up of Wes Hollywood (guitar/vocals), Jason Styx (drums), Patrick Thornbury (bass), and Mark Talent (guitar), the quartet self-released their debut full-length, Playing Favourites, on their own Nt. Weight Recordings in 1999. Playing Favourites built on the power pop styling of Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, and garnered favorable reviews with its infectious choruses, disarming lyrical wit, and huge vocal hooks. The band worked their way up through the Chicago club circuit for two years before releasing their sophomore effort on Nt. Weight Records in the early spring of 2001, The Girls Are Never Ending.
