The Amenta
The Amenta was formed in the year 2000, in Sydney, Australia, from the remnants of various defunct death and black metal bands. Seeking to, in their own words, "embody a new age of extremism," the group's intentionally anonymous members proceeded to synthesize elements of black, death, dark, ambient, and industrial metal into their 2002 demo/EP Mictlan. A full album, the obscurely named Occasus followed two years later, and was released by French label Listenable Records.
