Shok Paris
Hailing from Ohio State, USA, Shok Paris were formed in 1982 by the three-man nucleus of drummer Bill Sabo and guitarists Eric Manderwald and Ken Erb. With vocalist Vic Hix and bass player Kel Bershire completing the line-up, they debuted with ‘Go Down Fighting’ on the Cleveland Metal compilation. This opened the door to a contract with Auburn Records and they recorded Go For The Throat in less than two days. Musically, with their high-energy, aggressive songs they were very much in the Riot, Kiss and Accept mould. Jan Roll took over on drums on Steel And Starlight, but this proved to be simply a repeat performance, played under different titles with less conviction than the debut.
