Noughts and Exes
Atmospheric indie rock quintet Noughts and Exes hail from the eclectic North Point Neighborhood of Hong Kong, China. The band was formed by video director/graphic artist Joshua Wong after his former group, the similarly themed Whence He Came, disbanded. Noughts and Exes' debut album, Act One, Scene One, arrived in April 2008 on Omerta Group Records, and their sophomore outing, 2010's The Start of Us, saw them garner positive attention outside of Asia. They inked a distribution deal with U.S. label Spectra Records the following year, and spent 2012 raising money for their third album with a successful Kickstarter campaign.
