KITE BASE
Kite Base is the project of Savages bassist Ayşe Hassan and Blindness bassist Kendra Frost, a pair of friends who combine their love of post-punk and low end into sparse yet stylish songs similar to -- but distinct from -- their other projects. Naming themselves after one of the starting points in origami, Frost and Hassan began playing together in 2015, and posted the songs "Dadum" and "Miracle Waves" online soon after to critical acclaim. The singles "Soothe" and "Transition" -- as well as a cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Something I Can Never Have" -- preceded Kite Base's self-produced 2017 debut album Latent Whispers, which Hassan and Frost recorded in their homes as well as in the studio owned by Wrangler's Benge Edwards and the Maths' John Foxx.
