Kiethevez

Although their first full-length wasn't released until 1994, Swedish synth pop band KieTheVez had been recording songs as early as 1986. Originally formed by keyboardists Jörgen Falmer, Tomas Amneskog, and Per-Henrik Petersson when they were in their teens, KieTheVez went under the names West End (named after the Pet Shop Boys song) and Yellowstone, as well as performing with several other band members. Due to lineup changes and the members' service in the military, it wasn't until 1991 that the band finally settled with vocalist Jesper Palmqvist and the name KieTheVez. In 1993, the group signed with October Records and released their first proper full-length, Three Empty Words, the following year. Opium, featuring the dance club favorite "One Roman Choir," followed in October 1997. KieTheVez secured distribution of their music in the United States via A Different Drum.
