I. Jordan

British DJ and producer I. Jordan makes lush, euphoric dance tracks, effortlessly switching between styles such as filter house, atmospheric drum'n'bass, and giddy U.K. garage. Releases such as the EPs For You (2020) and Watch Out! (2021) reflect Jordan's lifelong passion for club music as well as their personal journey and self-discovery. Joyous debut album I Am Jordan arrived in 2024. I. Jordan grew up in the Northern English town of Doncaster. Attracted to fast, energetic dance music, they gravitated toward trance, happy hardcore, and drum'n'bass but had a hard time connecting with the club scene at first. They moved to Hull for university and joined a DJ society, becoming president in their final year. Jordan relocated to London during the mid-2010s and became immersed in the city's queer clubbing scene. Along with DJs and producers like Deadboy and Yamaneko, Jordan was a major part of New Atlantis, a monthly social event and label focusing on ambient and new age music. Their first production, "See Four," appeared on the 2017 New Atlantis, Vol. 1 compilation. While Jordan continued making ambient music as a side venture, their career took off when DNT STOP MY LV, an EP of dance tracks combining all of their influences, was released by Local Action in May 2019. This was soon followed by the singles "WARPER" and "H.U.R.L."/"F.U.R.L." (in collaboration with longtime friend and frequent DJ partner Finn). The self-dedicated For You, an eclectic, celebratory six-song EP informed by Jordan's self-care practices, was issued in 2020 and ended up on several best-of-the-year lists. The following year, Jordan signed to Ninja Tune; their debut for the label was the EP Watch Out!, featuring the warm, propulsive track "And Groove." "All About Love"/"Big B," another single with Finn, rounded out the year. Jordan teamed up with Fred again.. for the single "Admit It (u dont want 2)" in 2022. Several non-album tracks appeared, including "Always Been" and "Give It 2 Me." In 2023, Jordan and Sherelle released a split single on Fabric. Jordan also released a collaboration with Planningtorock ("TNB") and a track for HAAi's DJ-Kicks ("Life on the Wing"). The full-length I Am Jordan, a celebration of trans joy incorporating styles such as donk and euphoric trance, was released in 2024.
