Fire Deuce

The side project of Coheed and Cambria lead guitarist Travis Stever, Fire Deuce is a party-metal group that pairs versatile progressive rock C&C with the Sunset Strip sleaze of '80s hair metal and the arena-filling riffage of late-'70s hard rock. Emerging in the mid-2000s, the band has issued three EPs, including 2007's Deep Down & Dirty and 2020's Lords of Diesel. Founded by Stever in 2004, the group is comprised of fellow Coheed and Cambrians Joey Eppard (guitar, bass, vocals), Josh Eppard (drums), and Claudio Sanchez (harmonica, vocals, guitar), as well as trumpet player Mark Schiskie and Bill Riker (guitar, bass), Chris Gartmann (drums), and Joe Stote (keyboards) of Woodstock-based progressive metallers 3. The collective issued their debut EP, Children of the Deuce, in 2005 via Lancaster, Pennsylvania indie CI Records. Deep Down & Dirty arrived in 2007, followed by a long hiatus that saw the bandmembers tending to their myriad other creative pursuits. Fire Deuce returned in 2020 with their third EP, Lords of Diesel, this time via Evil Ink, the independent publisher and record label owned by Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez.
