Elva

Cultivating a bittersweet, sentimental indie pop in the vein of co-leader Elizabeth Morris' previous group, Allo Darlin', Elva is an Australian-European group based in Norway. They made their full-length debut with Winter Sun in 2019. After Allo Darlin' played their farewell show in London in late 2016, singer/songwriter Elizabeth Morris turned her musical focus to Elva, a collaborative songwriting project with her partner, Ola Innset (Making Marks, Sunturns). Adding cellist Ofelia Ossum, bassist Diego Ivars, and drummer Jørgen Nordby to the lineup -- and working with a palette that also included acoustic and electric guitars and vintage synths -- they recorded their first album in Sweden with former Allo Darlin' bandmate Michael Collins as producer. Titled Winter Sun, it saw release on Hamburg's Tapete Records in 2019.
