Debordo Leekunfa

Patrick Tanguy Séry Digbeu, singer, songwriter and composer of Afro-pop and coupé-décalé, was born in Abidjan on December 20, 1984. Quickly removed from the school benches, he spent his adolescence in delinquency. It was by discovering DJs, who were springing up in Africa with the advent of coupé-décalé in the early 2000s, that Debordo pulled through. In fact, he started out as an ambiance DJ and met DJ Arafat. In a country where the desire to party and dance takes precedence over political discourse, the duo come into their own with the tracks "Kpangor" (2006), and "Confirmation Kpangor ". These songs are accompanied by a particular kind of dance that sets young people and dancefloors alight. Debordo is noted for his use of "attalakus", a kind of onomatopoeia, which hit the charts in 2009 on the ten-minute single "Stéphane Sessègnon et Marie-Claude". The duo exploded in mid-air, each claiming the top spot on the bill. Debordo's career was launched, the singles followed and he began to export. During a tour of the United States, he released the single "American soldier ", which was featured on his 2013 album, Opah La Nation. In 2016, he received the Best Concept award at the Coupé Décalé Awards. Each single accumulates hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube, notably "Pikimin" (2017), "Robot macador" (2017), "Que du saal" (2019). In 2021, the artist, now produced by coupé-décalé star David Monsoh, released the album Apopgée. The artist was on the bill for the major Femua festival in 2022. In 2023, he released a single featuring Didi B. "Do, do, do ".
