Compañía Lírica Popera
Originally conceived by famed Spanish producer Miguel Angel Arenas as a way to combine the voices of lyric opera with the melodies of pop music, Compañia Lirica Popera are comprised of sopranos Ruth González and Françesca Calero, tenor Ricardo Bernal, and baritone Beltrán Iraburu. Taking nine songs that had been popular in Spain in the 1990s, including "Y So Fuera Ella" and "A Dios le Pido," as well as a previously unreleased track written by Alejandro Sanz, Compañia Lirica Popera, with help from the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, released their debut album, Gala Latina, in 2006.
