Following their Best Of compilation entitled "Teenage Wildlife" which retraced 25 years of the Northern Irish band's career, Ash have just released their eighth studio album, "Race The Night". After their mini-album "Trailer", which included the promising tracks "Jack Names The Planets", "Uncle Pat" and "Petrol", recorded while they were still at school in 1996, the band released their first real album "1977" which reached number 1 in the British charts the week of its release (1977 being the release date of the first Star Wars which the band is a fan of). In 1998 the trio became a quartet with the arrival of guitarist Charlotte Hatherley who participated in three albums: "Nu-Clear Sounds", "Free All Angels" and "Meltdown". The year 2002 would be their year of the USA, with a huge tour supporting Coldplay and David Bowie, followed by another one at the beginning of 2003, as headliners tis time, showing their real desire to break into the American market. Back to being a trio, they released "Twilight of The Innocents" in 2008. The band then launched into an impressive series of digital singles ("A-Z"), forsaking for a while the album format that they would return to 7 years later with "Kablammo!" followed by "Islands" in 2018, two albums that demonstrate that the band's energy and youthfulness are still intact.
