Towkio
Once known as Preston San and as Tokyo Shawn, the Mexican-Japanese rapper Towkio got his start as a member of Chicago's SaveMoney syndicate alongside Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, and Joey Purp. In 2014, the charismatic and animated rapper born Preston Oshita released a four-track EP titled Hotchips N Chopstix, with production strictly from the crew A Billion Young. The short set was followed by his long-in-the-works mixtape, .Wav Theory, featuring appearances by Chance, Mensa, Kaytranada, and more. The next year, he issued Community Service 2, a seven-song set featuring Joey Purp and Vic Mensa. In 2017, he released a quartet of singles: "Drift," "Swim," "Hot Shit," and "Symphony" with Teddy Jackson.
