Kofs

Foued Nabba, aka Kofs, was born in 1990 and grew up in Marseille with his Algerian parents and brothers. Although he was not necessarily immune to the pop culture he discovered daily on television, he eventually developed a passion for rap, in which he recognized his daily life more clearly. His brothers introduced him to rap by listening intensively to the likes of IAM, Salif and Alibi Montana, and soon the young man was writing his first lyrics and developing a passion for the art of rhyme. At the age of 16, a producer was fascinated by his husky voice and offered him the chance to work in the studio. With his first strong tracks, such as "Paradis", "Maître Cohen" and "Genèse", accompanied by powerful videos, he attracted an ever-growing audience and eventually signed with Universal. At the same time, he was also discovering cinema, infiltrating the cast of several projects, including the thriller Chouf , presented at Cannes in 2015, before making his mark in the musical sphere with the release in 2018 of his first album, entitled V, on which rapper SCH makes a guest appearance on the track "Caractère" . A year later, he made his mark again with the single "Tout s'achète", recorded this time with Alonzo. Santé et Bonheur , his second album, reached number 15 in the French charts in 2020, and three years later came his successor, Matrixé, which featured contributions from rappers Layzi on "Prison", Jul on "Le Fameux", Soolking on "Omri", Lacrim on "Bang Bang Bang" and ElGrandeToto on "Tony Montana". After collaborating in 2023 on projects by Elams, Cheb Bilal and YL, and playing a small role in the Netflix series Pax Massilia, directed by Olivier Marchal, Kofs released his fourth album, Après Minuit, at the start of 2024. The following year, he invited the old guard of French rap to guest on Mon École (Vol. 1), featuring Kamelancien, Le Rat Luciano, Alkpote, Mac Tyer, Kery James, Brasco, Intouchable and Dry, alongside Youssoupha and Kayna Samet. The album reaches number 65 in the French charts.
