Dolls United
Dolls United is a dancefloor project founded in Germany in 1994 by producers Sebastian Schulopick, Dominik Stahlschmidt and Martin Meinschäfer (former singer of the rock band Hob Goblin). It specializes in danceable remixes of classic children's series songs, especially from the Augsburger Puppenkiste, and combines elements of Eurodance, happy hardcore and pop. The first release under the name appeared in 1994: a rock version of the Urmel song. The dance remix "Eine Insel mit zwei Bergen" from Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer followed in 1995, reaching number 2 in the charts in Germany, lasting 33 weeks and going platinum in 1996. It is also a chart success in Austria and Switzerland. Shortly afterwards, the single "Blechbüchse roll!" is released, which reaches number 25 in Germany and stays in the charts for 13 weeks. In December 1995, the debut album Gut gebrüllt! is released, which climbs to number 15 in the German album charts and stays there for 20 weeks. In addition to the hits, the album contains other children's song remixes such as "Urmel-Lied-Mix" and "Wir bauen eine Falle" (1996) and goes platinum. The title single "Wir bauen eine Falle" and productions for well-known brands such as Käpt'n Blaubär, Pumuckl and Looney Tunes remixes followed in 1996. After that, Dolls United essentially ended its releases, apart from a new edition of the Urmel song in 2005 in the context of a Sat.1 theater version.
