Cadillac Muzik

San Antonio's Cadillac Muzik specialize in funky, musical, and uplifting hip-hop that continues in the tradition of OutKast. They debuted in 2012, hit Billboard charts for the first time with the 2018 album Lac Gospel, and continued their free-spirited progression with the Groove Nation EP, issued the following year. Friends since childhood, Beseja "CaddyMack" Moses and Scott "DaddyDvill" Campbell first wrote, produced, and rapped as teenagers during the early 2000s as members of the group the Texas Hardknocks. Inspired by Southern rap legends such as OutKast, 8Ball & MJG, and fellow Texans UGK -- as well as scores of soul, funk, and earlier hip-hop artists -- they formed Cadillac Muzik in 2010 with the intent to promote good times and celebrate individuality. Their first two albums, Cadillac Muzik and Funkyland, landed respectively in 2012 and 2014. A pause in their release schedule ended in 2018 with Lac Gospel, which registered on Billboard's R&B Album Sales chart. Moses and Campbell quickly followed up the next year with Groove Nation. The EP fared even better commercially than the preceding titles and hit several Billboard charts, including Heatseekers and Independent Albums.
